Introduction

The Workshop on orientation of dental unit and its engineering is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the technical and operational aspects of dental units. Dental professionals including assistants and technicians will gain insight into the essential components, functions, and engineering principles behind the equipment they use daily.

Objectives

• To have the knowledge and skill to optimize the use of dental units, ensuring both patient safety and equipment longevity.
• To have the basic knowledge of dental chair mechanics, water and air systems, suction units.

Workshop Overview

1. Introduction to staff training programme
   • Overview of the essential engineering principles behind the functionality of dental units, including dental chairs, delivery systems, and auxiliary equipment.
2. Hands-on demonstration
   • The workshop will cover the mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems integral to modern dental equipment, with hands-on demonstration of proper usage, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting common technical issues.
   • Identify and resolve common issues that arise with dental equipment.
   • Ensure optimal performance of dental units to enhance patient care.
3. Review and Assessment:
