HITEC IMS like every year organized its annual sports week from March 13 to 17
th with great fanfare providing ample opportunities and level playing field to the students to exhibit their sporting skills. MBBS, BDS and Paramedics were invited to participate. After parade inspection principal and executive committee members opened the games by releasing the balloons and freeing the doves in the air. Later the National anthem was sung. The students from first to final year BDS participated in various events including Tug of war, badminton, basket ball, table tennis, futsal, cricket , different races like relay race, three legged race etc. The event also included other competitions such as arts & crafts, Naat & Qirat, debates, singing, mushiara, bait bazi and dramatics. The top three position holders were awarded medals and certificates for their achievements. The sports week has promoted discipline, harmony, team work and spirit in the participants. Besides students faculty and staff witnessed the ceremony and encouraged the students. Speaking of occasion, the chief guest Chairman HITEC Maj Gen Amir Abbasi pointed out to the students the importance of balancing their time in their hard core studies by giving considerate time to some sports too. He congratulated the winners and appreciated all the participants for their sportsmanship. He particularly appreciated the sports committee for wonderfully organizing and conducting the entire week, in finding good sport talent, maintaining discipline and generating healthy spirit of competition among the students. Towards the end of the closing ceremony trophies were given to the champions of the gala. Medals were awarded to the position holders. Guests, students and faculty then enjoyed a lavish lunch arranged by the institution administration. Faculty and students enjoyed the week to its fullest with enthusiasm and wholeheartedly participation. They appreciated the gala, the variety of games and other activities saying that extracurricular activities are important to strengthen their brain and minds.
