Oral Health Day Dental Camp
World Oral Health Day is an important global initiative that highlights the importance of good oral health and encourages individuals to take steps to improve their oral health and overall well-being. As part of World Oral health Day Campaign a free dental camp was organized by Dental College HITEC-IMS. The aim of camp was to raise awareness about the importance of good oral health and its impact on overall health and well-being.
The camp was organized on 9th March 2023 in Froebel’s International School, Wah Cant. The organizing committee comprised of department of Community dentistry, faculty members from dental college, house officers and students of 2nd year BDS.
During the camp our team provided free dental checkup and oral hygiene instructions to patients. A total of 400 patients were examined and were given forms detailing their oral health issues and those requiring treatment were referred to HITEC Dental Hospital. Pamphlets were also given listing free services provided at hospital with complete address and contact information of hospital. The school children were also given demonstration of proper tooth brushing techniques on tooth models to help students understand their importance. The team members also collected data through surveys forms to detect prevalent dental problems among school children.
In conclusion, the camp was a huge success and our students played a crucial role in it. It had a positive impact on student’s awareness on oral health and hygiene. We hope to continue organizing similar camps in future.
