Medical Emergency management in dental settings; training of dental surgery assistants

As part of the Staff Training Program, the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery conducted a two-day workshop on March 28 & 29- 2024, for dental surgery assistants and auxiliary staff. The workshop was facilitated by Principal Dental College-HITEC IMS , Prof.Dr.Irfan Shah, Dr. Maimoona Siddiq, Dr.Fatima Khattak, Dr.Sadia Moin, Dr. Hassan bin Babar and Madam Bushra Zamurad. There were 28 participants in the workshop. This activity aimed to equip the participants with the knowledge and skills to be effective team members in case of medical emergencies in the dental setting. This extensive workshop included a lecture session and hands-on practice on the oxygen delivery system, vital monitoring, role play for common medical emergencies, and orientation to the crash cart. Dental College HITEC IMS plans to continue this Staff Training Program and further workshops for the dental surgery assistants are also expected to be conducted in the near future as part of this program.
