INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS AT HITEC-IMS

13 August dawned with clear skies and patriotic eyes; a day planned to the minute by the Events Society led by Dr. Rida Batool in collaboration with Literary, Music and Debate Society. The festivities unraveled with the promise of a joyous celebration.
As was planned, all assembled near the lawn of HITEC-IMS Dental College to promptly begin the “Azaadi March” at 8:30am sharp. It had the honor of being led by the very esteemed Principals and Vice Principals of both colleges. The students and faculty were adorned in the colors of the national flag and wrapped around the individuals was the luminescent halo of patriotism. This gathering then reached the main ground where a small function was to be hosted by Shaza Umar (Final Year BDS) alongside Rao Danish (2 nd year MBBS).
A memorable and enthusiastic speech was made by Safa Khattak and then the Music Society led by Warda (Final year BDS) serenaded all with melodious and passionate national songs that got all those present to sing along with the evergreen tune of ‘Dil Dil Pakistan'…… Iqbal’s poetry was read amongst all to share the vision of the man who dreamt of Independence for the muslim nation.
Then the respected Principals addressed the gathering of students and all present pledged to contribute owards the progress of our beloved Pakistan.
The event was concluded with a cake cutting ceremony and the distribution of the national sweet without which no festivity is truly complete-gulab jamun!!!!
