Developing the Assessment Blueprint: A Workshop at Dental College HITEC-IMS

A Successful Event Equips Department Heads with Assessment Design Skills

On 15^th May 2024, a workshop titled “Developing the Assessment Blueprint” was held at Dental College HITEC IMS Taxila. The workshop was aimed at Heads of Departments (HODs) from across the college, ensuring representation from every department. The esteemed facilitators for the event were Prof. Dr. Shahreen Zahid Khan, Dr. Faizan Munir Khan, Dr. Maimoona Saddiq, and Dr. Zarlis Nawaz.

The workshop focused on equipping HODs with the knowledge and skills necessary to design effective assessment blueprints. Assessment blueprints are crucial tools for ensuring that assessments accurately measure student learning outcomes. By participating in this workshop, HODs gained a deeper understanding of the components of a well-designed assessment blueprint and the process of creating one.

The interactive session likely included discussions on topics such as:

• Aligning assessments with learning objectives
• Determining appropriate assessment methods
• Defining assessment criteria
• Weighting different assessment components

Through presentations, discussions, and potentially hands-on exercises, the facilitators empowered HODs to develop and implement assessment blueprints within their respective departments. This will ultimately lead to a more standardized and effective assessment system throughout Dental College HITEC-IMS Taxila.
