Dental Camp Organized by Community Dentistry Department

A free dental camp was organized by Community dentistry department of Dental College HITEC-IMS on 24^th and 25^th April 2024.This Oral health program was a community service initiative of HITEC Dental College, with an aim to serve underprivileged population and raise awareness regarding maintenance of good oral hygiene and knowledge of different dental treatments among general population of Taxilla.

During this campaign, local communities in and around Taxila were targeted along with the schools in the vicinity. The camp was organized in sub office Taxila cant on 24^th April and Allama Iqbal Public High school on 25^th of Aril 2024.The team members included department of Community Dentistry headed by Dr Maria Rabbani along with house officers and students of 2^nd Year BDS.

During the camp our team provided free dental checkups and oral hygiene instructions to patients. A total of 500 patients were examined, with 400 being the school students and 100 patients from general population. They were given forms detailing their oral health issues .Patients in need of treatment were provided referral to HITEC Dental hospital at discounted prices ensuring they had access to care they require.

In conclusion the camp was a huge success providing much needed dental care to underserved communities and also offering our students an opportunity to engage in community outreach activities. With objective of improving access to oral healthcare for underserved and vulnerable community in mind, we are determined to continue organizing such camps in future.
