Free Dental Camp
A free dental camp was organized as a part of World Oral health Day Campaign by Dental College HITEC-IMS. The purpose of camp was to promote Oral health and hygiene among students by providing them free dental checkups and delivering lectures on basic knowledge about oral health and common dental problems and how to prevent them.
The camp was organized on 8th March 2023 in Roots International School, Kohistan Enclave Taxilla. The organizing committee comprised of department of Community dentistry ,faculty members from dental college, house officers and students of 2nd year BDS.
The camp started with a presentation on Oral health and hygiene by Dr.Shahreen Zahid followed by free dental checkup. A total of 600 patients were examined and were given forms detailing their oral health issues and those requiring treatment were referred to HITEC Dental Hospital at discounted prices. The team members also collected data through survey forms to detect prevalent dental problems among school children.
In conclusion, the camp was a huge success and had a positive impact on student’s awareness on oral health and hygiene. We hope to continue organizing similar camps in future.
