The workshop was arranged by Dr Ambreen Gul.
The objectives of the workshop were to educate the participants about the basic life support techniques and equip them with the skills necessary to respond to emergencies where CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is needed.
The workshop was conducted in the Auditorium of AFIC. The session started with a brief introduction by the instructor, followed by a lecture on the principles of basic life support. The lecture covered topics such as the chain of survival, the ABCs of CPR, and the different techniques used in BLS.
After the lecture, the participants were divided into groups of four and were given hands-on training on manikins. The instructor demonstrated the proper techniques of chest compressions, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). The participants then practised these techniques under the guidance of the instructor.
The workshop ended with a debriefing session where the participants were encouraged to ask questions and clarify any doubts they had. The instructor provided feedback to the participants and highlighted the importance of BLS in emergencies.
The workshop was well-received by the participants, and they actively participated in the hands-on training session. The participants learned the proper techniques of BLS and were able to demonstrate their skills effectively. The instructors provided feedback to the participants, highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement.
The Basic Life Support workshop conducted by the AFIC faculty was a success, and the participants gained valuable knowledge and skills necessary to respond to emergencies.
