Workshop on management of Medical Emergencies
As part of the Faculty development program, a one-day workshop was organized by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Dental College HITEC-IMS on the 28th of January 2021. The workshop was attended by the Heads of all Basic dental sciences and Clinical departments of Dental College. The aim was to highlight the importance of early identification and timely management of such emergencies. A comprehensive lecture was conducted by Dr. Mudassar Saleem, Associate Professor and Dr. Maimoona OMFS Department followed by a hands-on exercise on the management of Airway, IV line, BLS and safe administration of emergency medication carried out in clinical skills lab under strict SOPs for COVID 19.
Concluding the workshop, certificates were handed out to the participants by the Principal Dental College HITEC-IMS, Dr. Irfan Shah.
It is hoped that such activities keep the practitioners up to date to the evolving protocols for chair-side management of Medical Emergencies. The Dental College HITEC-IMS intends to organize such workshops in collaboration with other medical and Dental Colleges in the future.
